The DeviGyro is a miniature, non-magnetic, and versatile surveying instrument suited for a wide range of drilling applications across the mining exploration, mining production & development and civil construction industries. With easy operation and an attractive price point, the DeviGyro is resetting the standard for borehole surveying systems.

Incorporating cutting-edge gyroscope technology and proprietary navigational algorithms, the DeviGyro precisely detects and quantifies any deviation the instrument is subjected to as it traverses the drill hole. Providing highly accurate, repeatable data at any angle.

The DeviGyro comes equipped with a rugged handheld device and is operated by an innovative user-friendly Android application. The communication between the instrument and the handheld device is wireless and functions through the pressure barrel, made possible by Devico’s patented antenna technology.

Requiring minimal pre-survey set up time and capable of recording up to 10 samples a second at survey speeds of up to 100m/min, the DeviGyro is one of the most efficient survey instruments available on the market, taking the term user-friendly to new level.

As our customers have come to expect with all Devico survey products, survey quality is at the forefront with the DeviGyro system. At the completion of each survey all data is passed through an automatic, stringent, at-rig QA/QC process with a comprehensive pass/fail criteria, quickly providing the operator with full awareness of the survey results, and drill hole position. Equipped for the next step in the drilling process.

The DeviGyro is available in a leading range of interchangeable, purpose-built and durable running gear configurations, which are specifically suited to a wide range of survey applications.

Frequently asked questions about DeviGyro

Is the DeviGyro RG40 Standard North Seeking?

No, the DeviGyro is not north seeking. It is a high precision, continuous rate gyro using north seeking principles and proprietary algorithms to determine the drill hole path from a known direction. Most continuous north seeking gyros operate in the same way. They determine a start direction and then measure the “rate“ of change from the initial reference.

See answer

What is the maximum operating speed for the DeviGyro?

Although the DeviGyro has been successfully tested at speeds of 180m/min, the maximum recommended operating speed is
100 m/min.

See answer

How long does it take to survey a 100m drill hole with the DeviGyro?

Assuming a moderate average survey speed of approx. 60m/min, a 100m survey takes about 4 minutes. In addition, if you are conducting core drilling and running the OX assembly surveying becomes part of the drilling cycle and therefore survey time does not interrupt drilling productivity.

See answer

Can the DeviGyro be used without the DeviCounter?

Yes, it can. In that case you have to take stationary readings at specified depths. Whenever possible, however, continuous surveys are recommended. They give better accuracy because they have the benefit of precise depth information from the DeviCounter.
